Marysa Barela is a proud graduate of the University of Texas at Austin, where she earned a Bachelor of Journalism with High Honors. She began her journey with LINE as an intern in 2021, managing the organization’s website, social media, and communications. In 2025, her role expanded to Digital Media Communications Strategist, reflecting her dedication to advancing impactful digital outreach.

Her commitment to diversity extended beyond the energy sector, with leadership roles at UT Austin, including Program Development Coordinator, Social Media Coordinator, and President of the National Association of Hispanic Journalists. Marysa believes that achieving gender parity in energy requires diverse representation in the media to drive change.

Passionate about achieving gender parity, Marysa is honored to contribute to an organization that empowers women and works to create a more equitable society. She envisions a future where gender equality is the norm, fostering a fair and inclusive world for generations to come.

Born and raised in Roswell, New Mexico, Marysa relocated to the Houston area due to her family’s involvement in the energy industry. Outside of her professional endeavors, she enjoys traveling with friends and family and is a devoted dog mom to her 8-year-old pup, Mac.
